The Greatest Mystery Books I have Ever Read: The Mysterious Benedict Society

The first two books of The Mysterious Benedict Society series are The Mysterious Benedict Society and The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey. These two books are probably the greatest mystery books that I have ever read! Ever with an E!

Personally, I think that The Mysterious Benedict Society is the better of these two books. However, that does not mean that the second is not still a great book and a worthwhile read! This 480-page book starts from the perspective of Reynie Muldoon, a bright orphan. In fact, he has so much knowledge packed into his head that the orphanage got him a private tutor! One morning in the newspaper he sees an ad that seems rather queer. It reads: "Are you a gifted child looking for special opportunities?". Because Reynie is a curious child he digs deeper and is told to go to a certain building at a certain time. Reynie, along with many other children are given a test. When the results come in, Reynie is the only one who passes. When he goes to a new place for the next test he meets several other children, George "Sticky" Washington, Kate Wetherall, and Constance Contraire. After passing another series of tests the children are the only out of many who succeeded and get to know what the special opportunities. The special opportunities end up being more urgent then they could ever imagine! Filled with light humor and funny situation, this young adult mystery is great for anyone with is ok with only knowing as much as the characters in the book!

If you have not yet read The Mysterious Benedict Society then please do not read on! Spoilers will be given!

Mr. Benidict is overjoyed when The Mysterious Benedict Society successfully completes its mission of putting the Whisper out of service as well as shutting down the L.I.V.E. institute. In fact, Mr. Benicit was so happy with them that when he invited all of them back together again (about a year later). He put together a world-wide scavenger hunt for the children to go on! However, when Mr. Benidict and Number Two go on an expedition to find a rare and thought to be extinct plant that can cure his narcolepsy he has a run-in with his twin, Ledropath Curtain. Mr. Curtain holds Mr. Benidict hostage. When The Mysterious Benedict Society gets worried they agree to run away and begin the hunt anyway, hoping it will lead to Mr. Benidict and Number Two. If you want to find out if they make it then be sure to read this amazing book!
